who leads worship

Published by Ethan Magness at 9:09 am under BlogWatch

John Sarno (one of the members of Mountain’s worhsip arts staff) has a blog that usually talks about his travels and ministry in Austria. However lately he has been writing about the new venue at mountain.

In one of his recent reflections, he talks about our new venue service, but what really captured my attention was his musing at the end of the post about who is a worship leader. Here is a bit of what he says at the end,

The people who set up chairs (and tear them down) each week, run cables, hand out bulletins, greet you as you come in, the ushers, all the techies, the ones that make sure the bathrooms are clean (have you thought of helping out there?) they are all helping to lead worship. They are all Leaders of Worship. They may not get the exposure like the singers or band, (and this is a topic for another blog) but they are leaders of worship in the very truest meaning of the term.
How about you? Are you a worship leader? Are you a leader of worship?

I am so glad that John is giving us this reminder about two things: the nature of true leadership and the nature of true worship. Not to put to fine a point on it but it is convicting to me that both of these things are defined in scritpure the same way.

Service.

True worship is service. True leadership is service.

If you don’t trust me read the Bible. (If I get bored later, I will post some texts, or maybe one of my trusty readers can help me out.)

I know I am a little late in responding. The simplest definition I have come up with for worship is, “worship is service is worship.”
I think this seems to be pretty much what you have said also.
