About
This Blog is part of the spiritual formation ministry of Mountain Christian Church. Anyone interested in participating in a conversation about how to follow Jesus as a member of a local body of believers is invited to join us. Often we will focus on the particular happenings and ministries of Mountain, but most of what we talk about is relevant to anyone who cares about the journey of following Christ and recognizes that we can only take this journey in relationship with others.
It is sincerely hoped that the phrase “on the walk” describes both the topic of this blog and the location of this blog. I hope that our conversation bears out that we are not just talking about traveling (like we might while looking at vacation photos after a trip to the beach) but that we are talking while traveling. That distinction I think makes all the difference in the world.
I’ll see you on the walk.

Pastor of Spiritual Formation
Hi Ethan…just wanted to let you know that we are proud of you. You won’t remember my husband & I, but we use to babysit you and your brother when your folks were professors at Boise Bible College…you were probably 2 or 3 at the time (and yes, we even changed your diapers! hee hee). Your parents were such wonderful friends and mentors for us, as a young engaged couple, and I still stay in touch with your Mom. My mom called me tonight to tell me about see your article in the Christian Standard. So I looked it up on-line. It is so fun for Dale & I to know that the very curly-haired, mischievious Ethan – has grown to a wonderful, Godly husband and father to 2 boys. We also ended up having 2 boys – 2 years apart and added a girl quite a few years later. It’s amazing the simple things they can teach us. And now we’re grandparents to a little boy. The circle continues. Take care, God bless and keep the lessons coming. Love in Christ, Dale & Mary Phipps, Forest Grove, Oregon
